Masses For Vocations

Please Click Here for Daily Mass Scheme for Vocations

Since the 1980’s all Circles have been encouraged to arrange for the celebration of Holy Mass for Vocations to the priesthood and religious life annually on a specific date they have been allocated. This effectively means that Catenian Masses for Vocations are being celebrated on nearly every single day around the world

Additionally often arrange for someone to give a short talk/reflection on Vocations or arrange for a follow up meeting/discussion in the Parish Hall or arrange to have coffee/tea, biscuits after Mass or even a bite of lunch/dinner. These occasions are viewed a joyful caring events embracing Catenians and Non Catenians which hopefully will reflect positively on the Association as a caring organisation.

It is encouraging to read the extracts from the Vatican Year Book Annuario Pontificio as quoted in the Catholic Times (08-03-09) that worldwide “The number of Priests was showing a continued trend of moderate growth which began in 2000 after more than 20 years of disappointing results.

In our Centenary Year 2008 The Catenian Association had a Great Tsunami of Prayers for Vocations, arranging nearly 3000 Masses on a single day worldwide! These were on the Feast of Sts Peter and Paul, not only in the parishes where Brothers lived but in others where they had contacts with family, priests, missions, seminaries, holiday visits etc etc
